The Brazos Valley Regional Advisory Council invites EMS professionals and nurses to the 2026 Acute Care Symposium on Thursday, October 15, 2026. This event brings healthcare professionals from across the region together for continuing education, networking, and collaboration.

The symposium will take place at the TEEX Les W. Bunte Jr. Administration and Classroom Complex, located at 1595 Nuclear Science Road, College Station, TX 77845. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a welcome at 8:30 a.m.

2026 Acute Care Symposium Presentations

Attendees can look forward to presentations covering a range of emergency and acute care topics, including:

  • Scars to Strength: Melissa Kendrick, RN, MHA/MBA, LP, with Air Med 12.
  • Pediatric Evidence-Based Guidelines: Dr. Bryan Moore with McLane Children’s Medical Center.
  • Pediatric Stroke: Dr. Michael Cronin with Dell Children’s Medical Center.
  • Burn Updates: Dr. Robyn Richmond with the John S. Dunn Burn Center.
  • Snakes, Snake Bites & Antivenom in the Brazos Valley: Dr. Aaron Buzzard with St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

The agenda also includes skills stations and a vendor fair, giving attendees opportunities to practice skills, explore resources, and connect with colleagues. Closing remarks and door prizes are scheduled for 3 p.m.

Continuing Education Opportunities

Nursing continuing education credits will be provided by TETAF, and EMS continuing education credits will be provided by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). Whether you work in a prehospital or hospital setting, the symposium offers an opportunity to expand your knowledge and strengthen connections with regional healthcare partners.
